The first issue of the Method is an introduction to the initial learning material of bouzouki both on a theoretical and practical level. Beginners learn to read music, an integral and necessary part of bouzouki study, up to the division of eight notes. Regarding the practice, they make a first approach to the basic rules of bouzouki technique.
The curriculum of the first issue is consisted of explanatory texts regarding all the technical manipulations, images – a large number of exercises (for picking, fingering, independence of the fingers) – chords – rhythms – scales as well as twenty rembetika and artistic folk songs. Great attention was paid while writing not only this first issue but all issues of the Method, to the degree of understanding that they offer to the students in order to be able to follow and comprehend each chapter to the greatest extend.
The recordings, which are included in the DVD that accompanies the book are a helping tool for the exercises and the songs that consist the main structure of each issue in order to be understandable both from a technical and a theoretical point of view.
