In the third issue of the Method the full course of study is completed. Basic chapters of bouzouki study that have started from the two previous issues such as scales, ornaments and chords are completed here as well as the time subdivisions of thirty-seconds and sixty-fourths.
A large number of more demanding skill exercises that are included in this issue help students to improve their technique, while a very interesting part of the issue is dedicated on basic improvisation rules, taximis, folk modes and harmony, rhythms, accompanying, the dynamics of the sound, the odd meters, the fingering rules etc.
This issue just like the previous, is accompanied by a supplement- extra issue which includes 22 music sheets of artistic and folk songs that are related to the theoretical and practical requirements of each chapter.
The recordings of the contents that are included in the DVD ‘s of the books are a helpful tool in order for the students to comprehend the technical but mainly the expressional issues better.
The third issue is consisted of two books. The main book, which is the student’s book includes exercises and theory while the companion includes 22 artistic folk songs.
The student’s book contains:
191 exercises (skill exercises and exercises for picking, glissandos, arpeggios etc).
Chords (following the second issue, seventh chord and diminish chord- performing ways)
Basic fingering rules
Odd meters (5/8, 7/8, 9/8, etc)
Taximis ( basic indications and rules on how a student can play and then compose his own taximis and improvisations in general).
Modes (all modes, chords included, the relative-relevant modes, chords that each one of them ends while for each mode there is a correspondent taximi written in notes and recorded as well).
