While writing a few words about my new work, I am taking the opportunity to thank all of you, the known and unknown friends, for following and supporting my effort with your love through the course of all these years.
As in my first cd, once more I wade into instrumental pieces because I believe that through them, the bouzouki today can find its "liberty" and can be played in a self-promoting manner protecting it from the standardization that it has been suffering by, through the modern Greek music.
It's a way I believe, to regain back all the elements that made it direct and alive, so beloved, and the most popular folk instrument.
On the other hand for all of us that play, these soloistic pieces are study material references for the bouzouki, as those written by other virtuosos. Through them, one can observe the instrument's evolution from one stage to another throughout its journey up until today.
I therefore I find it essential, that something comparative should occur today with an effort towards a technical and expressive rejuvenation, which the bouzouki is in need of today.
I hope that this new cycle of instrumental pieces will have the same impact to all of you that love it.
I thank all of my friends as well as the contributors of this cd, for their participation.
